Energetica Placemaking Guidance out for public consultation.
The public will have its say on special planning guidance for a unique energy energy destination to the north of Aberdeen as consultation into new draft documents is launched.
Planning guidance has now been published for all proposed development within Energetica – a new energy community stretching north from the Bridge of Don to Peterhead and west to the airport.
Energetica Placemaking Supplementary Guidance was unveiled in May by ACSEF (Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future) and, after being reported to the Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure Committee at Aberdeen City Council and at Aberdeenshire Council’s Area Committees, extensive consultation is now taking place.

Community Sustainable Energy Programme awards £2 million grant funding
The eleventh round of the Community Sustainable Energy Programme (CSEP) capital grants stream has taken place and BRE is pleased to announce that 101 projects have been offered funding for the installation of microgeneration and energy saving technologies. The Selection Panel reviewed 149 projects and awarded approx £2 million to the projects which it felt best demonstrated the aims of the programme. Successful applicants included approx 32 schools and colleges, as well as numerous charities, trusts, community and faith organisations. A third hydro turbine project was also successful for a wildlife trust centre in London.

UK Timber Industry to Meet Government’s Independent Panel on Forestry

Chaired by the Right Reverend James Jones, Bishop of Liverpool, the Panel was established in March 2011 to advise Government on the future direction of forestry and woodland policy in England – and the role of the Forestry Commission in implementing that policy.
