Free seminar on portable GC/MS
The Open University in Milton Keynes has been chosen as the venue for a free seminar on Friday 28th March featuring an introduction to the latest onsite monitoring equipment, including a portable GC/MS from Torion Technologies (USA).
The seminar will feature presentations from Tiffany Brande, U.S. based Director of Torion, and Dr Andrew Hobson from Quantitech, the company which is organising the event.
Electric Glen Lighting Festival – It’s not just a walk in the park!
East Renfrewshire Council's winter lighting festival, Electric Glen, a Homecoming Scotland 2014 event, returns for its second year next week with an exploration through light, sound, performance and projection. Electric Glen has almost sold out all of its 24,000 tickets for this year more than doubling its sell out success of 10,000 tickets last year.
Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Paul Wheelhouse said: “Rouken Glen Park is a popular visitor destination throughout the year and Electric Glen is a shining example of a Homecoming Event, celebrating one of Scotland’s most stunning parks and its rich economic and cultural heritage.”
Energy efficiency in the spotlight at the Ecolife Show
Energy efficiency measures - from loft insulation to solar panel installation – will be showcased at the first Ecolife Show near London Gatwick on 12-14 September.
The Show is a new concept in helping consumers to live a greener life and have a great day out at the same time. The Ecolife Show will take place at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, and is expected to attract around 40,000 visitors.
Bumper year predicted for City’s BIG Green Week festival in June
Organisers of Bristol’s BIG Green Week are predicting their biggest ever year this June as the festival launches the City’s year-long ‘European Green Capital’ celebrations in 2015.
“Last year some 80 groups organised over 120 events during the nine days” says Festival Director, Paul Rainger. “We are expect to attract even more events this June as Bristol gears up to be the first ever UK city to be crowned European Green Capital in 2015.”
