Energy efficiency measures - from loft insulation to solar panel installation – will be showcased at the first Ecolife Show near London Gatwick on 12-14 September.

The Show is a new concept in helping consumers to live a greener life and have a great day out at the same time. The Ecolife Show will take place at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, and is expected to attract around 40,000 visitors.

Experts will demonstrate how reducing heat loss can shrink household energy bills. Homeowners can gain advice and information on Green Deal approved products and services, an initiative allowing them to make energy-saving improvements to their home without having to pay all the costs up front.

Visitors to the Show’s Eco Home section can view the latest innovations in boiler technology, solar energy, heat pumps, loft insulation, draught-proofing, wind turbines and double glazing. Also on display will be the latest concepts in low energy lighting, a fast developing technology.

The Ecolife Show is the biggest showcase event in the south of England connecting consumers with the latest products, innovations and ideas in eco living and energy saving. The Show embraces low impact living, from how we build, heat and ventilate our homes, the food we eat, our choice of transport, sustainable and eco travel, new consumer product design, water management and waste recycling.

William Aveston, Ecolife Show director, said: “The Ecolife Show is aimed at consumers who recognise the need for change in the way they use energy and who want to live a more sustainable lifestyle, and businesses who want to keep one step ahead of their customers’ needs and demands for innovation, new technology and new build ideas from the construction industry.

“Whether you’re an end user of products, a food producer, a self-builder or an industry professional, the Ecolife Show will be relevant, interesting and enjoyable. It’s not just another exhibition – it’s an event that will inspire, inform and encourage change.”

The Ecolife Show will cover every aspect of green living through three main themes, Eco Leisure, Eco Home and Eco Living. The 150-acre South of England Showground, set in the stunning wide open space of the Sussex countryside, will be divided into three zones to make the visitor experience focused and manageable.

Each zone will feature interactive exhibits and live demonstrations in the latest eco-kitchens, including cookery demonstrations by River Cottage chef Steven Lamb, the newest electric and hybrid cars, eco-homes and eco-gardening, sustainable wine production and rainwater harvesting. There will also be Dragons Den-style awards, seminars and conferences.

“The Show will bring together exhibitors from all over Europe, large and small, who are leaders in their sectors, be that home energy, food, transport or travel,” said William.

"With the flexibility and size of this location we can accommodate some really large stands and the outside spaces give us the flexibility for full sized working machinery; interest from a number of leading companies in these fields has already been exceedingly positive.

"With the political framework for change and government incentives to encourage consumers to go green now firmly established, we feel confident that the climate is right for a show of this size and scope,” he added.
