Eighty per cent of households in Wales can now see how much food they throw away thanks to separate collections of food or food and green waste. All 22 Welsh councils provide the service to at least some of their residents, and the number of households covered continues to grow.

As a result of the current drive to install renewables, and with government targets for all new homes to be zero carbon by 2016, construction companies are being invited to meet with both experts in renewable energy and those that make, sell and install these technologies, at a new show in the south west of England.

Environment Minister, Jane Davidson, has approved a Welsh Assembly Government coastal protection grant of over £3.8m million which will fund coastal protection works at west Rhyl.  Work on the project is expected to start later this month.
