Essex business is UK’s fastest growing in cleantech industry

Climate Energy Ltd, a Witham based carbon reduction agency, has been recognised as the UK’s Fastest Growing Large Cleantech company at the GP Bullhound Cleantech Connect Awards 2011.

It’s success over the past three years also means that Climate Energy is Europe’s 4th Fastest Growing Large Cleantech company.

The Cleantech Connect Awards is an annual celebration of companies that develop technology and services with a focus on reducing carbon emissions and pollution. This is the third year running that Climate Energy has made it into the top 30 Cleantech companies. Last year it was placed 15th in Europe, while in 2009 it was placed 16th, competing with a range of companies from Germany, Denmark, Italy, Norway and The Netherlands.

Based in Witham, and with offices in, Braintree, Thurrock and Croydon, Climate Energy employs 180 people. It provides local authorities, housing providers and homeowners with energy efficiency funding solutions and advice, as well as installing energy efficiency measures such heating and renewables.

Over the past three years, Climate Energy has significantly expanded and now offers a number of new services, including s the ecoTECH build system, an energy efficient building solution which can build energy efficient properties at the same cost as a tradition build but in a fraction of the time.

“Since it was established seven years ago, Climate Energy has gone from strength to strength, and we have seen our team win a number of awards and gain a reputation in the industry for their vast knowledge and skills.

“With less than a year until the Government launches its Green Deal, the whole country will need to find ways to save energy in their homes and businesses, and Climate Energy is proud to be leading the way in the UK.”
