Tidy Planet commissioned for first full-size RDF Small Waste Incineration Plant

0n6805Organic waste and Energy-from-Waste (EfW) solutions specialist, Tidy Planet, has sold a new plant to Brooke Energy, in Exeter.

The Small Waste Incineration Plant (SWIP) is replacing a redundant biomass facility that Brooke Energy recently acquired.

The new combined heat and power system will process three tonnes per hour – 24,000 tonnes per annum – of refuse derived fuel (RDF) from local waste collectors.

UNTHA shredder at the heart of new Columbian Energy-from-Waste plant

An UNTHA CR2000 shredder is set to drive forward Geofuturo’s Energy-from-Waste (EfW) operations in Columbia – converting the country’s waste into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for the cement industry.

The equipment – which represents a shredding first for the waste management organisation – will be processing approximately 2,200 tonnes of materials per month at the firm’s new EfW plant, Geoparque, in Cartagena.

UNTHA shredder at the heart of Meplas plastic recycling operation

Bespoke plastic recycling company, Meplas, has invested in an LRK1400 shredder from UNTHA UK, to process the 600-tonnes-per-month of hard and soft plastics it receives from the UK’s post-industrial manufacturing outlets, at its facility in East Yorkshire.

The single-shaft, high-torque machine will enable Meplas to meet its 1.5-tonnes-per-hour processing requirements for hard plastics – in particular, HDPE, PP, and PO mix materials – using a 40mm screen size.

UNTHA UK appoints duo of new recruits as part of ambitious growth plans

Industrial shredding specialist, UNTHA UK, has appointed two new employees to further bolster the firm’s sales and engineering divisions.

The recruitment news follows the announcement earlier in the year that the firm promoted three of its long-standing staff members and is also preparing for 30% growth in 2022 – taking it to a £17m-turnover business.

With a 30-year tenure within the retail and corporate sales industry – and experience working for brands such as Halliwell Jones Group BMW/MINI – former business development manager, Ian Harvey (pictured right), now takes on the position of sales manager. His breadth of experience will be crucial in helping the firm to achieve its ambitious growth target, seeing him responsible for shaping the sales strategy and building a robust pipeline of sales leads for UNTHA’s recycling machines.

UNTHA XR fuels ETM’s Waste to Energy plans

Bristol-based recycling specialist ETM has integrated a new UNTHA XR3000 mobil-e shredder into its state-of-the-art waste transfer station, as the ambitious family-run firm pushes for zero waste to landfill in the South West.

The XR investment marks the latest enhancement to ETM’s £5m facility, which was commissioned two years ago to become the biggest of its kind in the region. It has the capacity to handle 150,000 tonnes of waste per year, collected from ETM’s own skip fleet, as well as contracts for the west of England.

Lancashire Waste invests in 10th UNTHA shredder as demand rockets

There are now 10 UNTHA shredders in operation at Lancashire Waste Recycling as the resource specialist encounters its highest level of demand yet. The investment also means the firm now has a larger UNTHA fleet than any other independent business in the UK.

Four UNTHA XR3000C static waste shredders, an XR2000, three XR3000XCs, and a mobile XR3000C-HT with high torque drive, are now joined by UNTHA’s new XR3000RC.
