Industrial shredder manufacturer UNTHA shredding technology has launched a condition monitoring tool to help optimise plant productivity, from an operator’s remote device.

Named UNTHA Genius, the cloud technology uses several intuitive in-built machine sensors to analyse a shredder’s performance in real-time. The aim is to maximise machine availability while minimising maintenance and downtime costs.

Waste management specialist The Niramax Group, has overhauled its alternative fuel production line with the switch to new shredding technology. The move is expected to boost capacity for the Hartlepool-headquartered organisation, by as much as 30% per year.

Previously operating a high-speed system to transform pre-sorted commercial and industrial waste into a refined SRF for use in combined heat and power plants, the Niramax development team was encountering repeated problems with machine damage, unplanned downtime and excessive wear costs.

Metal recycling specialist Light Bros. has boosted its ability to handle refrigerators – one of the UK’s most complex household WEEE applications – with the help of a new UNTHA shredder.

Macclesfield-headquartered Tidy Planet has previously worked on a variety of composting projects in the global oil and gas sector. This latest venture requires numerous processes to treat the client’s plastic, metal and wood wastes, as well as five additional tonnes of food waste generated per day at a liquid gas plant in Tanguhh.
