WEEE Recycling: It’s booming and here’s why

altWEEE recycling is booming. Frost & Sulliven have recently reported that earned revenues in Europe from the industry were roughly $1.3 billion last year and that they predict that by 2020 this could have reached nearly $2 billion.

They cite EU laws, environmental awareness and increasing landfill prices as being the main reasons why the demand for WEEE recycling has shot up in recent years.

Online traffic rockets as UNTHA UK celebrates website anniversary

Leading waste shredder provider UNTHA UK is dispelling any concerns that demand for recycling and waste management technologies is stagnant in the UK. Statistics from the first 12 months of the company’s online activity have been analysed, and the level of traffic is not only strong, it is continuing to grow.

The UNTHA UK website was launched on 31 August 2012, in anticipation for last year’s RWM event. In less than a week, the team dominated Google’s natural listings for key search terms, and that search engine governance has increased as the year has unfolded. Active in the world of social media, UNTHA UK’s Twitter and Linked In accounts have also delivered an increasing amount of referral traffic to the website.

New website promotes greener recycling for construction industry

Don’t throw your old toothbrush away

altSchoolchildren brought along their old toothbrushes to help build Britain’s first house made almost entirely from thrown-away waste.

Pupils from St Andrew’s CE Primary School in Hove (17 July) were joined by Brighton MP Caroline Lucas as they slotted brushes into wall cavities to help with insulation in the house which is under construction at the University of Brighton’s Faculty of Arts campus in Grand Parade, Brighton.
