AN green project is giving people the chance to get involved in their environment.

The Wild Green Spaces in Hartlepool project, which aims to involve local people in work to develop and improve the town’s parks and Local Nature Reserves (LNRs), is operating a Wild Wednesdays scheme.

Details have been released of the first nine electric cars that will be eligible for grants of up to £5,000 in a government subsidy scheme.  Under the £43m initiative that starts on 1 January, buyers will get a 25% discount up to the maximum £5,000.

Companies from across the UK this July will be building and sleeping in shelters made from scavenged material, hiking through the Peak District and completing other challenges all in the name of fighting world poverty.
