Donauer Solartechnik presents new mounting system at Solar Power UK 2011
At Solar Power UK 2011 in Birmingham from 26 to 28th October, Donauer Solartechnik will be presenting its new mounting frame: the Futura Siplex system with snap-in functions. It can be used on all roof types. The specialist wholesale company developed the system as part of its own INTERSOL range.
“Futura Siplex is a snap-in system that is particularly easy for installation technicians to work with for roof-top projects”, explains Annett Boland, engineer from the development department of Donauer. “The pre-assembled components reduce the installation time by up to 20 percent compared to previous mounting systems.”

The London 2012 Olympic Velodrome has won its own award almost nine months before the cycling begins, it was announced today.
The Velodrome, which was designed by Hopkins Architects on behalf of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), has been awarded the Prime Minister’s Better Public Award at a ceremony in London.
The Velodrome is one of the most sustainable venues on the Olympic Park in terms of design and construction. Sustainable choices were made wherever possible; from the sourcing of wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council to be used on the track and external cladding, to the installation of a 100 per-cent naturally ventilated system. This ventilation creates a perfect track-level temperature, eliminating the need for air conditioning.
