WYG’s Chief Executive wins prestigious award

WYG Chief Executive Officer, Paul Hamer is celebrating after picking up the Association for Consultancy and Engineering’s Sterling Award on Wednesday night (13 November) at ACE’s European CEO of the Year Awards at The Dorchester in London.

The award was presented by Huw Edwards, BAFTA award winner, and Sir John Armitt, former Head of ODA and formed part of the ACE Centenary Gala Dinner, celebrating 100 years of consultancy and engineering excellence.

Prestigious awards for WYG in Poland

altWYG is celebrating in Poland after picking up not one but two prestigious awards.

Last month saw WYG receive the title of ‘Ambassador of the Polish Economy 2013’ in the ‘Partner of foreign companies’ category at the fifth annual Business Centre Club awards.

The title of ambassador is awarded to Polish companies that promote Poland in the international arena as a reliable business partner, contribute to the economic development of the country and build credibility and trust in Poland and Polish people.

The future is green for Birmingham conference venue

altOne of Birmingham’s greenest venues is celebrating today after maintaining a British Standard accolade for their environmental credentials.

Conference Aston, Birmingham city centre’s premier conference, hotel and event venue, has had its ISO14001 accreditation reaffirmed following the refurbishment of 53 bedrooms as part of a £5.4m redevelopment of the Aston University site.

Merseyside and Halton crowned national waste champions

A local government waste partnership has scooped a top accolade at a national awards ceremony for helping to cut household waste levels on Merseyside and Halton.

The Merseyside and Halton Waste Partnership, which consists of Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority and Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral councils, picked up the prize at the LARAC* Celebration Awards 2013.

BIU Group raises £2 million for local air ambulance service

altBIU Group (BIU), one of the UK’s leading textile recycling companies, is pleased to announce it has raised 2 million pounds for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).

HIOWAA and BIU have been working together since 2006. There are currently over 300 BIU clothing banks that have been placed in the area, where the people of Hampshire can recycle their unwanted clothing, shoes and textiles, generating vital funds for the life-saving charity.
