Mike Putnam will give this year’s JCT Povey Lecture on Tuesday, December 6. Mike is president and chief executive of Skanska UK, the UK’s greenest company, and also a member of the Green Construction Board.

Entitled ‘The Journey to Deep Green TM’, the ninth JCT Povey Lecture will be held in Bevin Hall, Local Government House, Smith Square, London SW1P 3HZ. Registration will commence at 6pm.

Established in 2003 as a tribute to Philip Povey in recognition of his 50 years of service to the JCT and the construction industry, the JCT Povey Lecture has become an important fixture in the construction industry calendar.

Other notable individuals who have given presentations in recent years include Paul Morrell OBE, the government’s chief construction adviser who gave last year’s lecture entitled: ‘Ambition in an Age of Austerity’, Francis Salway, chief executive of Land Securities, in 2009 with his lecture ‘Leading on Sustainability’, the Rt Hon Nick Raynsford MP in 2008 with ‘The Construction Industry and Government’ and Bob White in 2007 (then chairman of Constructing Excellence) on ‘Innovation in the Change Agenda’.

Full details about this year’s Povey Lecture can be found on the JCT website (www.jctltd.co.uk), together with the texts of previous Povey Lectures.
