Pallet shredder chips away at waste disposal costs for distribution firm

PS1300Busy distribution specialist K Engineering Group is one of the latest organisations to transform the tidiness, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness of its logistics site, with the help of an UNTHA shredder. 

A PS1300 pallet shredder has been installed at the firm’s West Midlands headquarters, saving the business over £15,000 in waste collection fees per year.

The growing business began life as a manufacturer in 1954, but now largely imports and distributes a range of heavy duty nuts, bolts, threaded fasteners and other socket products, from its three UK depots.

Katie Mallinson joins the €80m turnover company following almost 15 years working with the business as a supplier. Until recently, she was managing director of global communications firm Scriba PR, which she founded in 2013.

Pallet shredder diverts waste wood from landfill and saves refrigeration firm thousands

Tidy Planet commissioned for first full-size RDF Small Waste Incineration Plant

0n6805Organic waste and Energy-from-Waste (EfW) solutions specialist, Tidy Planet, has sold a new plant to Brooke Energy, in Exeter.

The Small Waste Incineration Plant (SWIP) is replacing a redundant biomass facility that Brooke Energy recently acquired.

The new combined heat and power system will process three tonnes per hour – 24,000 tonnes per annum – of refuse derived fuel (RDF) from local waste collectors.
