At 1pm today the solar industry presented a REA/STA letter signed by 200 prominent individuals and organisations, and a Friends of the Earth petition signed by 17000 concerned citizens, urging the PM and DPM to reconsider the drastic cuts and changes being rushed through to the Feed-in Tariff.
REA Chief Executive Gaynor Hartnell and STA Chairman Howard Johns were joined by Friends of the Earth Head of Campaigns Andrew Pendleton, Solarcentury Chairman Jeremy Leggett, and a cross-party group of MPs including Caroline Lucas MP, Caroline Flint MP, and Tessa Munt MP.
The ball is now very much in Downing Street’s court to save the thousands of good green jobs threatened by the FITs review.
