Repair Work Fuels New Growth for Panton McLeod

Water Quality Engineering company Panton McLeod has augmented its ambitious expansion plans by appointing Colin Gibbs as its new Business Development Manager to widen its ongoing UK sales drive.

The firm - which is the UK’s leading expert in providing repairs, cleaning and inspection services for potable water storage facilities – has recruited former Metoc Plc business development manager Colin Gibbs to help build and strengthen its sales base across southern and central England.

Colin is a well-known and respected figure in the water industry, with experience in senior positions within many major players during the past two decades – including as UK sales Director for Ionics (now GE) and Southern Sales Manager for Purac (now Enpure).

He will work alongside Operations Director Paul Henderson to identify new clients and drive forward a national sales push for Panton McLeod’s cleaning and repairs divisions.

Colin commented “as Panton McLeod are becoming one of the best-known names in the UK water industry for structural and water quality repairs, I’m proud to be joining the team to help their services grow over the coming years”.

“The firm already works with some of the biggest water companies across the country in cleaning and disinfection but despite its exceptional reputation, there are still some regions where it’s ambitious expansion plans demand greater penetration”

Iain Weir, Managing Director feels certain that Colin’s experience in the industry will create new inroads into these areas, as well as strengthening our position as the  company to beat for tank repairs and cleaning in the UK.”

The appointment is the latest stage of Panton McLeod’s ongoing expansion plans across the UK and overseas, which have already included a £120,000 revamp of its fleet of vehicles and the opening of its US division Panton McLeod Americas.

Last month, the firm also recruited civil engineer Barclay Smart to add quality to its projects in Scotland.

Panton McLeod has 15 years experience at developing and applying highly specialised procedures to clean and disinfect the UK’s drinking water storage structures.

The firm has also pioneered the use of underwater robots in the UK which are used to inspect and clean these structures while they are still on-line – meaning that there is no disruption to customers’ supplies.

For 2010, Panton McLeod will be placing great emphasis on the repair and refurbishment of drinking water storage structures across the country, having in recent years carried out repair projects for some of the UK’s biggest water companies.

In the past decade, the firm has grown from its headquarters in Newtown St Boswells and it now has further offices in Nottingham and in the United States. The U.S. base in Denver, Colorado, is the hub for its North American division Panton McLeod Americas - which is currently revolutionising the way drinking water storage and treatment structures are cleaned and disinfected across the USA.
