Greenbuild Expo 2010

Following the success of the debut Greenbuild Expo in 2009, an even bigger and better show is being planned for May this year with more exhibitors and an expanded conference programme.

The two-day event, taking place on 26th and 27th May, is completely free to attend and features 100 free seminars and workshops covering all aspects of sustainable building.  The incredibly popular workshops are set to return, with sessions on heat pumps, biomass, greywater recycling, rainwater harvesting, solar PV, timber frame and smart metering. Other highlights of the seminar programme include advice on keeping costs down while building sustianably and a beginner’s guide to green refurbishment. Confirmed speakers include Carbon Trust, Apollo Group, UK SIPs Association, Green Roof Organisation, Oliver Heath, Whitbread, BRE, Environment Agency, SummitSkills and the Sustainable Energy Academy.

New features for 2010 include the Innovation Showcase, giving visitors the chance to see the latest products and ideas in sustainable construction, including fuel cell technology and infrared heating. We’ve also introduced the Building Greener Schools part of the event, created to promote sustainable construction within the education sector.

Greenbuild Expo 2010 is sponsored by Worcester Bosch, Buderus, Manchester City Council, Stroma, Vaillant, SIG, EcoSkies and Envirolink Northwest, who also sponsored the 2009 show. James Griffin, business development manager from Envirolink Northwest, commented: “We’re delighted to support this event in the North West for a second year. Greenbuild Expo 2010 is a great opportunity to see a wide range of innovative low carbon construction solutions, highlighting the North West’s leadership in this area.”

Greenbuild Expo 2010 will take place on 26th and 27th May  at Manchester Central (formerly GMEX) and is completely free to attend. Visit www.greenbuildexpo.co.uk for free registration or further information.
