New MD appointment signifies growth plans for ESE World

Having amassed over 30 years’ industry experience, Peter has held a number of senior sales and director roles within the waste and recycling sector. And fast forward to 2020, he is returning to the very same company – then known as Otto UK Ltd – he was a part of, in 1992.

Tidy Planet celebrates 5-year composting partnership with UK students’ union

This year, The Guild – the University of Liverpool’s students’ union (SU) – celebrates half a decade of composting food waste from its campus kitchens.

The campus’s composting journey began in January 2015, when it invested in dewatering and composting equipment from Macclesfield organic waste solutions specialist Tidy Planet. It sought a solution to close the waste management loop, omit costly waste disposal fees and create a valuable resource to grow produce in the on-site rooftop gardens and cultivation plots.

O'Donovan Waste driver Paul Neal wins the City Mark Driver of the Year at the Future Fleet Awards

Paul Neal, Logistics Supervisor and HGV Driver at O'Donovan Waste Disposal has won the prestigious Driver of the Year award at the Future Fleet Awards that took place at London’s Guildhall last week. The awards ceremony followed on from the LAPV Future Fleet Forum event and was hosted by The City of London seeing Fleet and Transport Managers from the public sector and its contracting organisations come together to address key challenges faced by the industry.

The awards recognise the most innovative strategic, safety, and sustainability initiatives in the UK fleet management sector. The categories are judged by an expert panel with extensive knowledge and expertise in fleet management. Paul was chosen for being an exemplar role model of safety and best practice and for demonstrating a level integrity and customer care that was second to none as well as his dedication to working in the community to share his road safety knowledge.

Clearpoint Recycling strengthens fibre division with new head of paper

Harrogate-based, Environment Agency approved recyclable materials exporter Clearpoint Recycling has bolstered its workforce with the appointment of a new head of paper, Andrew Perkins, who will be leading the firm’s expanding fibre operation.

Bringing with him over 25 years’ experience in the industry, Andrew has worked for a number of waste management, recycling and paper manufacturing companies – in both operational and commercial roles. Prior to joining the Clearpoint Recycling team, he was most recently commercial director at global paper-based packaging firm Smurfit Kappa Recycling, where he was responsible for all supply into the firm’s UK mills, as well as trading on surplus fibre to its continental operation and third-party mills in Europe and the Far East.

Hat-trick of appointments and a familiar face at UNTHA UK

Drawing on expertise from roles in the defence sector, world of public transport, and more recently Unilever, he will work closely with UNTHA’s field and service engineers from the point of an order confirmation.
