Barker and Stonehouse brings first living wall to Teesside

The new flagship Barker and Stonehouse store on Teesside Retail Park is literally being brought to life, thanks to the creation of the first ‘living’ wall and roof on Teesside.
Thousands of colourful plants will soon transform a south-facing wall and the roof into a bright display and wildlife habitat in time for the store’s opening on March 28.

Boningale Nurseries, one of the UK’s largest nurseries, has combined its unique horticulture and green roof expertise to help transform the landscape at an historic area of London that is undergoing a £180 million revitalisation.
The Shropshire-based nursery not only provided hundreds of semi-mature trees and perennials to the ongoing Rathbone Market redevelopment in Canning Town, it also supplied with sister company Boningale GreenSky, bespoke native Green Roof Plugs for the community’s new green roofs and living walls.

The nominations have been counted and the results are in as the winners of the 2015 Bio Business Awards were announced last night at the World Bio Markets event in Amsterdam.
Hosted at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam, the black-tie, 5-star gala dinner celebrated some of the leading bio pioneers in the industry, and was attended by some of the biggest names in bioeconomy.
