Two events have been held today as part of international project "Green Week", implemented by Campaign IDEA. On the third day of the project, the two events were held in the morning at highway Zig in Surakhani district, Gun.Az reports.

The area underwent Euro-technical service before the action. Over 700 plants were planted during the action. The climate of Absheron and ecological character of the area were taken into consideration before selecting the trees.

A peculiar feature of the action is that the green zone that will be laid in the area will be supervised by Campaign IDEA in the future.

In the second half of the event, the green campus of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy hosted training "Environmental diplomacy" for the first time in the country. The training which ran in the form of an open lecture involved over 300 youths.

The training program was attended by President of Global Environment Fund Arthur Deil, UNEP senior advisor Frederik Schlingemann and Gulchovra Aliyeva as a moderator.

The training aimed to raise ecological awareness of future diplomats, politicians, as well as decision makers in regional and interstate structures, local government bodies and NGOs. The main topics of the training were international problems and issues of sustainable development.
