They recently became the first manufacturing company in the UK to be awarded Energy Management Standard BS EN 16001 and the Energy Reduction Verification (ERV) Kitemark.
Today Camfil Farr confirm their position as industry leaders when it comes to robust energy management, by becoming the first company worldwide to achieve the successful transition from BS EN 16001 (the National Energy Management Standard) to the new ISO 50001 (International Energy Management Standard).
With energy being one of the most critical challenges facing the international community, the International Standard ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, which was published in June 2011, was eagerly awaited as it is estimated that this new standard could have a positive impact on some 60 % of the world’s energy use.
ISO 50001 provides public and private sector organisations with management strategies to increase energy efficiencies, reduce costs and improve energy performance.
Energy Management Standard ISO 50001 replaces BS EN 16001 and represents the latest international best practice in energy management, building upon existing national and regional standards and initiatives. The standard has been in development for a number of years with energy management experts, representing over 60 countries from across the world, coming together to establish the framework.

I am therefore delighted that they have maintained this leadership position by becoming the first company to make the successful transition from BS EN 16001 to ISO 50001”.
