3M HELPS CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ADAPT TO CHANGE WITH NEW RESPIRATORY RANGE

  • PDF

Diversified technology company 3M has introduced a comprehensive new modular range of powered air respiratory protective systems specifically designed to meet the needs of construction workers.

3M’s Versaflo Respiratory Protective Systems supply clean, safe air to the workers’ breathing zone and so allow them to work comfortably for long periods.

This is of vital importance in construction where much of the work is physically demanding, and uncomfortable personal protective equipment (PPE) can drastically impact on productivity.

Boasting streamlined, lightweight, stylish, intuitive design for optimum comfort and ease of use, the new systems offer high levels of protection with the flexibility for changing environments, needs and comfort preferences.

This is a crucial consideration given the simultaneous presence of multiple hazards on many construction sites, meaning several forms of protection are needed at once.

The range features a variety of headtops incorporating protection for the head, eyes and ears, as well as respiratory protection. This eliminates the need to source individual PPE items which may not be readily compatible with each other.

The high levels of protection offered by the 3M Versaflo range will offer great peace of mind to specifiers and workers facing potentially severe respiratory hazards such as silica.

And because powered air systems do not require fit testing, 3M Versaflo Respiratory Protective Systems quickly solve the problem of finding respiratory equipment to protect workers with beards or heavy stubble.

Among the new products being introduced is the 3M Versaflo TR-300 Powered Air Respirator range, which combines optimal comfort and performance with a high level of protection. The highly efficient filter on these slim, lightweight, balanced products captures hazardous dust, mist and fume, while its intelligent lithium battery quickly charges, has no memory effect and incorporates a useful charge indicator. It also has an audible and visual electronic alarm that activates in case of low battery or low air flow.

Caroline Smith of 3M’s Occupational Health & Environmental Safety group commented: “3M’s extensive experience in the field of PPE has allowed us to develop what we believe are some of the most stylish, intuitive and comfortable respiratory protection items on the market today – keeping construction workers safe and comfortable, and therefore happier and more productive.

“The versatility of the range means many applications can be safely catered for, to meet both legal requirements and user preferences, and buyers can have confidence that they are purchasing high-quality products from a proven and trusted manufacturer.”

3M is also able to provide advice on system selection and ongoing care and maintenance to ensure all systems deliver optimum performance and service life. For further information call 0870 80 800 60 in the UK or 1 800 320 500 (Ireland).
