Currently in the UK, over 25 million plywood sheets are used annually which are not recyclable and have to be landfilled at great expense to the construction industry and the environment. From January 2011, that looks set to change with the commencement of production of EcoSheet, the World’s first environmentally-friendly plywood substitute board.
Set to revolutionise the construction industry, EcoSheet could save the industry in excess of 30,000 tonnes of waste to landfill each year.
EcoSheet is a ground-breaking plywood replacement board made entirely from unwanted waste plastic. It is already being used by some of the UK’s biggest construction companies including Bovis Lend Lease, Apollo Group, ISG Pearce, Morgan Sindall and Wates, who all recognise its sustainable qualities and the benefits it offers commercially and environmentally over plywood.
We would like to invite you to visit 2K Manufacturing’s brand new factory in Luton so you can witness first-hand how waste plastic from a variety of waste streams – construction, household, industrial – is being turned into a useful product that can be used by the construction industry and beyond. Company founder Omer Kutluoglu would be delighted to show you around his factory and talk you through the production process as it happens.
IF YOU BRING WITH YOU AN ITEM OF WASTE PLASTIC SUCH AS AN OLD CONSTRUCTION HARD HAT, OUTDATED MOBILE PHONE OR BROKEN MP3 PLAYER, WE’LL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN REPROCESS IT INTO ECOSHEET, WHICH ITSELF CAN BE RECYCLED AGAIN AND AGAIN.
2K Manufacturing is located only 2 minutes from Luton Airport Parkway train station, just 35 minutes from London St Pancras mainline station. To schedule a visit week commencing 10th January 2011 or after
