In support of this year’s NHS Sustainability Day, Albrighton-based Boningale Nurseries donated two trees to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
This annual campaign, which involves many NHS organisations around the country, also incorporates a NHS Forests’ 2@2 event. In line with this, Boningale’s two donated native trees were planted in the hospital grounds at 2pm on NHS Sustainability Day (Thursday 26th March).
Tom Stabler, Marketing & Business Development Manager at Boningale, one of the country’s largest nurseries and environmental horticultural specialists, said: “We are pleased to support one of our local hospitals with this excellent NHS initiative, and provide trees that will help improve the environment at the Princess Royal’s hospital grounds."
“Trees provide multiple benefits – not only environmental but also to people’s wellbeing – as well as being a welcome habitat for birds and animals.”
Thanking Boningale Nurseries for its donation, Hannah Roy, of The Princess Royal Hospital, said: “It’s important that the hospital has an inviting atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff and the addition of trees helps to soften the landscape and provide a welcome greenery to the hospital site.
“These will be a lasting feature here at the hospital and we are very grateful for Boningale Nurseries for its kind offer.”
